Pülö returns to the people at the heart of its story.
A NARRATIVE BY CHRISTINA IFUBARABOYE

We brought Pülö back to the people who matter most: the characters who are not only part of the film, but co-creators of its story. In Okrika, we held a private review session with the main cast, who, for the first time, were seeing themselves not just in fragments or familiar moments, but as part of the fuller story we had been shaping together over the years.
The response was deeply emotional. There was pride, recognition, and a powerful sense of being seen—of having their stories held with care, from within. More than anything, it reminded us why we began this journey in the first place, and deepened our commitment to shaping the film into the most honest version of itself.
That moment continues to guide how we think about sharing the film. As part of our evolving impact work, we are developing ways to bring Pülö back to waterfront communities across Nigeria and coastal West Africa, ensuring it reaches those whose lives are most intimately connected to the story.
